Roulette Betting Systems

Roulette is one of the most popular games in the casino industry. It is named after a French word, which means a little wheel. In the game, a wheel is spun, and a ball is thrown in the opposite direction. Players then bet on the number or group of numbers where the ball will stop, and the game moves forward accordingly.

Who invented Roulette?

The invention of the Roulette can be traced back to the 17th century. As per Betting News, Blaise Pascal, a French physicist, invented the wheel while trying to experiment with other phenomena. Nonetheless, the game went on the become one of the most popular games of its time, and even now, it is counted among the most played ones in casinos across the globe.

Roulette Betting Systems

There are different betting systems in Roulette, and some of the important ones are discussed below:

  • Martingale system: It is a betting system in which bettor doubles the bet after every loss. This is done to compensate for the loss of money, but this strategy of progressive betting is quite risky in its nature. If a player continues to lose the bets, then he/she will run out of the money quite soon.
  • Fibonacci system: This system of betting is based upon the mathematics formula in which each number is equal to the sum of the previous two numbers. The sequence 1.12.3.5.8.13 is an example of the Fibonacci sequence. If player bets according to this system, then winning will result in cutting the last two bets while in case of a loss, the player will choose the next number in sequence to bet.
  • Labouchère system, also called the cancellation system, aims to recover the losses of the player. Take, for instance, the set of numbers 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6 and a $5 bet increment that a player is willing to take on the bet. The player will add the first (1) and last number (6) in the set and then multiply that with increment bet ($5). If the bet is successful, then these numbers are crossed, and the player continues the process with outside numbers in the remaining set. If the bet is unsuccessful, then the previous bet will be added to the set, and no crossing of numbers will take place.
  • The D’Alembert system is quite simple. Here the player selects the initial bet and then increases/decreases the bet incrementally. If the player loses, then the bet is increased by the margin of one. Similarly, if the player wins, then the bet is decreased by one. According to this system, the player will start making the profit if wins become equal to losses.

Conclusion

There is a misconception among players that adopting betting systems significantly enhance the likelihood of winning in the Roulette – it is not true. Rather what requires winning is thoughtful conception and analysis of strategies on the part of the player. Also, no one can deny the role of luck in the roulette game, which means your stars can also help you to win big in the game.
